Why do Non-Skaters/Observers pay An Admission Fee?
Observer & Non-Skater Admission Fee Policy
Anyone who enters the building must pay a non-refundable admission fee. Why?
Peninsula Family Skating Center is a unique event venue in Newport News. It is an experience unlike any other. Even if you choose not to skate, there are many benefits to spending time with us around the rink including:
- Musical entertainment provided by a live DJ for each session
- Access to a games arcade room with prizes
- Access to a snack bar that is attended by a staff member throughout the session who prepares items on-demand (e.g. pizza, nachos, and hot dogs)
- Access to photo-worthy moments (e.g. neon light signs and temporary installations provide moments you'll want to snap and share with family and friends)
- Complimentary access to bathrooms, water fountain (with a water bottle refill station), and modern dining and lounging amenities
- Entertainment provided by watching skaters, including advanced skaters and specials skates (e.g. special games, giveaways, and announcements during the session)
Additionally, the building has limited capacity and each guest (including observers/non-skaters) counts against our capacity limit. In the event of an emergency, we rely on accurate occupancy counts from admissions in order to report and respond appropriately.
We really appreciate your understanding! Even if you chose not to skate with us, our hope is that you'll have an amazing time spending time with your loved ones around the rink!
